Ground has officially broken for Cap Metro Rapid Metro Expo Rail in ATX. It's part of Project Connect. The city voted to expand their transit system to help with Austin' traffic congestion and pollution. A zero-emissions fleet with the largest order of electric transit buses in the US set to arrive next December. Their goal to replace the diesel buses, and save 230,000 pounds of greenhouse gasses per year.

The Rapid Metro Expo route will be the first Rapid route that runs east and west through ATX. It's designed to provide frequent service with a limited number of stops for quicker travel times.

The Capital Metro Rapid Expo line will better connect the ATX community while helping the environment. A much more sustainable option when it comes to cutting our carbon footprint while working and playing in ATX!
