The COVID- 19 Relief Bill is a massive relief package that was created to help in many different ways. A piece of the American Rescue Plan gives around 10.4 Billion dollars to help the agriculture industry. The Farm Bureau estimates around half will go to disadvantaged farmers with a quarter being black. This relief would help provide debt relief, grants, training, education and assistance in getting land. That's why many feel this piece of legislation will benefit Black famers more than any other since the Civil Rights Act in 1964. It could be looked at as a step in the right direction towards social justice of righting a century of wrong against Black farmers. Take a moment to read.
