See what Lake Buchanan looks like right now!

Compliments of the drought!

Austin / Central Texas has had an extremely dry Spring and now Summer. Record heat temperatures in May, June and looking like July. With 26 plus days of triple digit temps and counting. The Austin area had 90 days of triple temps in 2011. Looks like 2022 is on it's way to beating that record.

The photo above is what Lake Buchanan looks like full and beautiful. Here's the view thanks to no (substantial amount) rain and record heat causing big time drought conditions.

Lower lake levels is also more dangerous for swimmers. Lake Buchanan is less than 75% full and Lake Travis is only 57% full. This makes swimmers go out further with uneven lake bottoms. Trees, boulders and more are closer to the surface of the water. Jumping into it is much more dangerous coming into contact with what's in the water. Use extreme caution when it comes to summer fun in the lakes.

Hey Y'all! Let's get our rain dances on, while dealing with this heat. Stay safe and cool!
