Throughout the festival, Mix 94.7’s Sean Mack sat down with several of the weekend’s performers including Orville Peck and Jess Glynne who are both celebrating recently released albums and collaborations with fellow artists.
“This album came at a time when it needed to come and serves a purpose for right now and I’m so proud of it,” shared Glynne. ‘It took me a little longer to make than anticipated, however, it feels super special and super exciting being back in the U.S. Touring.”

Also celebrating new music at ACL was Orville Peck who released Stampede in August which features 15 tracks of high-level collaborations including Elton John, Teddy Swims, Noah Cyrus and more. When asked how he secured so many talented artists to join him Orville shared he “just asked” and was in disbelief of how many said yes.
“Pretty much everybody, except for I think, three artsits [said yes] — there were 18 [asks] in total,” he shared. “It was pretty much just me reaching out to them because I’ve known them or worked with them in some capacity… that was the easy part. The hard part was scheduling.”

While majority of the tracks were asks that Peck put out, there was one artist that reached out to him — Austin native, Willie Nelson. “He asked me, which is insane,” Peck said. “He summoned me onto his tour bus at a festival and asked me the first day I ever met him. It was pretty insane.”
