Gov. Greg Abbott Announces More Openings Happening Friday

Big day  for Texas annoucements today from  the capital. Governor Greg Abbott announced moving into Phase 2 of reopening the state  and to the much anticipation of many that includes the opening of  bars at 25% capacity. 

Other openings  include: 

-Today’s Phase II announcement:Further opening up of business:

1. Based on the advice of best medical doctors and business leaders, effective today other personal services that can open can be found at:gov.texas.gov/opentexas

2. Businesses in office buildings can open to the greater of 10 employees or 25% of the work force as long as proper social distancing.

3. Effective immediately child care facilities can open/ including Boys and Girls clubs and YMCA facilities.

-This Friday (5/22) A long list of businesses can reopen or expand capacity.

1. Restaurants can open to a 50% capacity.

2. Bars, Craft Breweries, Wine tasting rooms and similar businesses can open at a 25% capacity. Limits do NOT apply to Outdoor areas as long as proper distancing.3. In addition a longlist of businesses from drive in concerts to bowling alleys can open to 25% capacity. Full list at open Texas website.

4. May (5/31) All Summer Camps, Daytime and Overnight Camps, Vacation Bible School, Scouting, 4H Camps, Youth Sports camps and little leagues can open (**parents can spectate as long as proper social distancing**)

5. (5/31) Some Pro Sports can return- Pro Golf, Auto Racing, Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Football and Basketball. For ALL sporting and camp activities special safety standards apply to prevent the spread of Covid-19 (can be found at the open Texas website)

6. (6/1) Summer School- Districts can offer classes and open as long as all safety standards are followed.
