This is an issue happening right here in our city. 79% of Houston school children are economically disadvantaged, meaning books are a luxury their families cannot afford.
Kids who do not read proficiently by the end of the third grade are four times more likely to drop out of school. Help us set our community up for success!
It is proven that providing kids with books to read in their home boosts reading achievement levels and long-term school and life outcomes!
