May through July is peak tarantula season in Texas, as the large hairy spiders emerge from their underground burrows in search of mates. While tarantulas in Texas are venomous, their bites typically have mild effects on humans, feeling similar to a bee sting. So, if you happen to see one - it's best just to just leave it alone and let it do its thing. If you are bitten seek medical attention if bitten to prevent infection and monitor for signs of allergic reactions.
