Houston Texans 2025 schedule: Dates, times, opponents and TV announced

The Houston Texans 2025 regular season schedule features six total nationally televised games, marking the second consecutive season with six nationally televised games.

The Texans 12 national audience appearances over the last two seasons stand as the most in a two-season span in franchise history.

Their primetime schedule will be highlighted by two Monday Night Football contests, including their Week 2 home opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, marking the first MNF home opener in franchise history.

Additionally, the Texans will play on Prime’s Thursday Night Football and NBC’s Sunday Night Football. This season, the Texans will appear in front of a national audience on a Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Houston will kick off their 2025 campaign on the road against the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 7, marking the second time in franchise history that the Texans have kicked off a season on the west coast.

In Week 2, the Texans will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their first home Monday Night Football matchup under head coach DeMeco Ryans and their first time hosting a MNF game since Nov. 26, 2018 against Tennessee.

In Week 3, Houston will travel to Jacksonville and look to improve their record against the Jaguars after winning 12 of the last 14 matchups between the two clubs. In Week 4, the Texans will return home to take on the Tennessee Titans, where they will aim to even up the all-time series record with a sweep over the Titans this season. The Texans will play at Baltimore in Week 5 and look to defeat the Ravens for the first time since 2014 before receiving their Bye in Week 6. This will be the team’s second Week 6 Bye in franchise history.

After returning from the bye week, the Texans will face off against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field in their second Monday Night Football matchup of the season, marking the fifth time in team history that the Texans have played in two MNF games in the same season.

It will also be the second time the Texans have appeared in a MNF double header with the first coming in 2013 against the Chargers.

Houston will then host three consecutive games at NRG Stadium, beginning with a Week 8 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, marking DeMeco Ryans’ first game against his former team.

The following weeks they will take on the Denver Broncos and the Jacksonville Jaguars. In Week 11, the Texans will travel to Tennessee to close out their series with the Titans, marking the earliest they’ve closed out the series with the Titans since 2009.

The Texans will then return to NRG Stadium and look to win their fifth consecutive game against the Buffalo Bills as they square off on Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football.

The team will then go on the road for back-to-back road games in Weeks 13-14 as they take on the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium followed by a Sunday Night Football matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Following their trip to Kansas City, the Texans will face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15 and the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 16. In Week 17, the Texans will return to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers at Sofi Stadium.

The Texans three appearances on the west coast this season stand as the most in a season in franchise history. The team will then close out their season at home against the Indianapolis Colts, marking the 15th time the team has finished the season at home. In home finales, the Texans have posted an 8-6 record.

The Texans will kick off their preseason schedule on the road against the Minnesota Vikings before returning home for their standalone home preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. The team will then close out their preseason slate in Detroit as they take on the Lions at Ford Field.

Additionally, the Texans are announcing game themes for each home game of the 2025 Season.

For the first time ever, the Texans will host a Space City-themed game against the Colts to close out their season. The team will also host their second International Day presented by Kroger on September 29 followed by a Reppin’ H-Town game presented by Bud Light on October 26.

Additional popular game themes include Legends Homecoming presented by Ticketmaster on November 2 and a Battle Red game presented by Mattress Firm on November 20. A full of list of this year’s game themes is featured below.
