
It’s time for slime y’all! A date has been set and the announcement has been made — The 2022 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards is returning on April 9. Along with announcing the when, Nickelodeon unveiled the list of nominees, and that iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove and footballer Rob "Gronk" Gronkowski have been tapped to co-host this years’ event. Adding that musical performers will be announced at a later date.

In just one month, stars from television, movies, sports, music and more will head to the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, for a night that promises orange blip awards, good times and duh — a whole lotta of slime. More specifically according to the official press release, be on the look out for, “1,000 epic slimings,” with an on-screen running tally for those watching at home, along with “dozens of fun-filled pranks.”
“Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards has always been such a unique show with tons of energy, superstars and of course, lots of slime,” said Cosgrove. “Nickelodeon has always been my family and to co-host this iconic show alongside Gronk will be a blast.”
Gronk admitting he’s “always been a kid at heart,” shared that “co-hosting the slimiest award show of the year will be an extraordinary time for me.” Adding, “I’m looking forward to bringing the fun that I have on and off the field to kids at home.”
The slime-tastic show covering categories such as Television, Film, Music and a few others is set to air live on Saturday, April 9 at 7:30PM ET on Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons and the Nick Jr. channel. As always, awards are voted on by fans.
So who could walk away with a special prize? Leading individual nominations with four each are Taylor Swift and Adele, both of whom are up for Favorite Female Artist along with Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, and Billie Eilish. Meanwhile, a few first-time nominees include Olivia Rodrigo, Saweetie, The Kid LaROI and Doja Cat.
