Okay, back story first, for those weirdos who don’t already know. In 2018, on a budget of $996,631.90 Drake set out to shoot a music video for his hit single "God's Plan.” But instead of spending the cash on the usual fancy effects, models, fast cars or envy worth location, the rapper decided to film himself giving away every last dollar and cent to help change the lives of people all across the US.

One of those lucky recipients was University of Miami student Destiny James, who Drake surprised with a $50,000 scholarship to complete her undergraduate studies. Now, just three years later, Destiny is graduating with her master's degree from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and took to Instagram to commemorate the occasion with a post captioned, “Mama, I mastered it, Daddy I did it.” Also celebrating her accomplishment, Drizzy jumped in the comments writing, “LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DES.”
When speaking to BuzzFeed about the story behind the music video that changed her life, Destiny, who was a junior in undergrad at the time, explained how she was able to put the scholarship money toward her bachelor's degree in public health and graduated in May 2019. "The scholarship allowed me to enjoy my senior year at UM free of financial burden, which was a breath of fresh air!" Destiny said. "I was able to cancel any loans I had for that school term.”
