(SportsRadio 610) - The Texans fell to 1-4-1 after losing to the Raiders in Las Vegas on Sunday.
SportsRadio 610 was well represented in Vegas. Here are some observations from the game:

1. When Jonathan Greenard was selected Bill O’Brien created quite the scene and was seen yelling, “That’s your pick, Jack!"
How ironic is it that the week Jack Easterby leaves town Greenard goes on IR after injuring his calf last week in practice? He's expected to be back in 4-6 weeks.
2. Texans fans traveled and it was fun interacting with them in Las Vegas.
3. Carolina did the Texans a massive favor winning and the Browns did them a favor losing in the noon kickoffs. What a weird league this is. Gotta love it.
4. The Texans' first offensive drive was way too effective to not come away with points. The third down toss to tight end Jordan Akins was an elite play call, pitch-and-catch followed by a nice 10-yard Dameon Pierce run.
But then the drive stalled and Fairbairn shanked the kick.
5. Nico Collins has been really, really good the last few weeks, even better than the stats say. I’m not 100% comfortable saying Collins will be a really good No. 2 receiver when all is said and done, but I dang sure won’t dismiss the possibility.
Collins looks like a guy that can help this team in the future and be an asset, regardless of the role. He has worked his ass off and it shows.
6. The two-play stretch in which Brevin Jordan made a spectacular catch that didn’t count and then kind of whiffed on a block in the backfield seemed like an accurate representation of Jordan’s tenure up to this point.
There’s a lot of potential there, but it just hasn’t shown. Him establishing himself the same way Collins has would be one of the best things that could happen to this team in the immediate and future.
7. Davis Mills played an excellent first half of football. The TD pass to Chris Moore was a prime example of him hanging in there and making the throw no matter how hard the hit was going to be.
There’s a give/take balance to holding onto the ball too long and getting rid of the ball quickly. Mills is a QB who should hold onto the ball longer at times, which is the exact opposite issue Deshaun Watson had when he was here.
8. Every single flaw of the Texans' defense was on display on the Raiders' drive to end the first half and start the second half, mainly in the front seven.
The Texans' front seven needs a lot of work and attention from the front office in the next couple years.
9. Mills' TD pass to Phillip Dorsett was elite. Whatever he did during the bye week worked.
10. Nico Collins leaving the game with a groin injury was a tough break for the Texans and you hope it’s not serious or lingering, so his previously mentioned development doesn’t halt.
11. Rookie guard Kenyon Green has had some bad penalties early in his career. None more blatant and inexcusable than that false start on 4th and 1.
You can chalk these up to being a rookie. He’s going to be a very solid part of this team when they get good.
12. The front seven is going to satisfy a lot of people who think it’s in the best interest for the Texans to lose.
13. It’s one thing to not be good, but the 4th-and-1 offsides penalty by Roy Lopez was as bad as it gets and Lopez basically told Green to hold his beer.
14. Josh Jacobs is a good back, but the Texans made him look like Bo Jackson.
15. The third Jacobs TD was the nail in the coughin for the Texans. The Mills INT was nothing more than no nails.
16. For the want to lose games for better draft position folks this was an awesome day. Carolina won their second game, Browns lost again and Texans lost while Mills looked good. Not all is bad.
