(SportsRadio 610) - Deshaun Watson was traded from the Houston Texans to the Cleveland Browns without even saying goodbye.

Truthfully, Houston was ready for this. It was about 15 months in the making, and it finally happened.

But not even a goodbye letter?

Well, it's good we have an accomplished author, journalist and ghostwriter on the SportsRadio 610 payroll.

John P. Lopez took the liberty of writing the letter on Watson's behalf. So here it is.

Dear H-Town,

These last four years have been two of the best years of my life. I know some things I have done in recent months may have rubbed people the wrong way, but I feel as if this will end up a happy ending.

I want to thank you all ... give or take 22 of you.

But I especially want to thank Rick Smith for believing me, DeAndre Hopkins for making my transition into the NFL so much easier, Duane Brown for having my back like Red in Shawshank, Will Fuller, J J. Watt, Bob McNair, Jadeveon Clowney, Zach Cunningham and Kareem Jackson.

As for Cal McNair, Jack Easterby, David Culley and Bill O'Brien ... I plead the fifth.

So many of my teammates and I shared a bond that would bind us in so many ways. Especially those dudes I mentioned. So, so many ways. My teammates were tough, smart, dependable and from the day I arrived in 2017 until April 2, 2019 -- I know, that's oddly specific -- created a culture that was exactly what this team needed.

I also want to thank Tom Savage. I REALLY want to thank Tom Savage.
This has been quite the time we've had.

Even though things didn't work out the way I hoped, there are so many things about my time in H-Town that I always will appreciate. The weather. The fans. Rusty Hardin. And Jack Easterby negotiating contracts. That's funny right there.

I learned a lot, too. Like how not to use Instagram, HEB commercials are easy money, that I need to pick up some burner phones, and that Houston probably is not the best place to open a cheesesteak restaurant.

I may have stumbled a bit and disappointed some of you, but I understand. It's time for me to stand up and dust myself off with a little bitty towel.
It's time for me to move on now. But I leave with Houston always being a special place in my heart and loins.

I promised to be legendary when I got here. And I will. It's just going to be in Cleveland. I'm going to give The Land 230-million percent.

I wish nothing but the best for Houston and the Texans, but especially the fans. I wish nothing but the best for you fans. I hope someday you find the wins you deserve, a quarterback like me -- and a coach who knows what to call on fourth-down.

Godspeed, good luck and I will see you next slime season.
