Her new single "Angel," offers fans a track of self-empowerment, utilizing her experience as a Black woman. The chorus chants "Black girl here, Black girl with the Black girl hair/ Took a little sun kiss just to look like this/ God-sent, you're an angel."

If you had been sleeping on Halle, it's time to wake up. This piano-driven record accompanied by Halle's light soprano voice and the aesthetics of the music video, you're sure to have some emotions evoked while listening.

The singer announced her single, "Angel," on Monday which is her first attempt at a solo career. In an interview with ESSENCE, Halle revealed she had anxiety about pursuing her solo career, saying “I was so nervous to do something on my own." But the nerves couldn't hold her back, she added, "seeing how Chlöe’s navigated stepping out on her own is so inspiring to me.”

The announcement came paired with a video montage of Halle over the years from being a toddler to blossoming into the woman she is today paired with a subtle caption that reads "angels make a way somehow.”

Taking to her Discord account, she said "it’s been a long time coming to get to this part of my solo journey, and I thank you for supporting me through every moment […] I’m gonna be real with y’all and let you inside this complicated brain of mine. I can’t wait til you hear what I’ve been working so hard on, for a long time. I’ve been shy for a while now, but it’s time… xoxo, Halle.”

And of course big sis Chlöe had to show some love for her sister. Quoting Halle's announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter), Chlöe wrote "my angel forever and always. I’m so proud of you, sis. cannot wait. I love this song [so much].”

There's been no hints of when a full project can be expected by, but "Angel" is out now. Check it out above.
