As per the official Dreamville Festival website —
“The second annual Dreamville Festival will once again provide a thoughtfully-curated, multi-stage music event from J. Cole, who himself was raised in nearby Fayetteville, North Carolina. The festival offers an opportunity for J. Cole to give back to his home state that has helped shape the artist he has become with a one-of-a-kind celebration of local culture, food and art that also features a curated selection of music performers blending together some of today’s biggest national acts with exciting up-and-comers.”
“The festivals itself aims to provide a unique opportunity for locals and traveling visitors alike to gather and enjoy a music celebration in one of Raleigh’s most beautiful and historic locations, Dorothea Dix Park – Raleigh’s largest city park with over 300 acres of public greenspace. Dreamville Festival’s ultimate goal is to not only have a positive and substantial economic and cultural impact on the city itself and the surrounding region, but also to be one of the most anticipated annual events in the city – one that is a perfect complement to the existing event landscape and cultural fabric of the City of Raleigh.”
J. Cole first announced his Dreamville Festival in April 2018. Slated to feature SZA, Big Sean, and Young Thug, among others, but was canceled due to Hurricane Florence. So it wasn’t until the following year that the first Dreamville Festival took place at Raleigh’s Dorothea Dix Park in April 2019. And as the coronavirus pandemic canceled any chances of it reoccurring the following year in 2020. To date, it’s the only Dreamville Festival to have occurred.
"It’s exciting to finally be back. Ever since we wrapped our first fest, we’ve been waiting to get back to the park with our Dreamville family," said Adam Roy, Dreamville partner, and festival president, in a statement. "We had to come back bigger and better than before. With the fest moving to two days, Dreamville Festival is about to become the festival our team has always dreamt about. We want this to grow into one of the premier annual music experiences in the country.”
Tickets for the festival go on sale Friday, October 1 at 10AM ET at DreamvilleFest.com. However, fans who signed up for the official Dreamville Festival newsletter, available at the festival's official website, were able to access a special ticket pre-sale on Tuesday.
As of now, no line-up has been released. But you can still get hype by checking out the hilarious official festival announcement video above.
