With the 2022 Billboard Music Awards right around the corner, NBC announced the first round of performers set to take the stage at the May 15 ceremony.

Megan Thee Stallion, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Latto, Burna Boy and Rauw Alejandro will all deliver sets throughout the award show, which will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
For both Meg and Latto, this award show will mark their debut performances at the BBMAS. Both artists are finalists for top female rap artist, alongside Cardi B. This will also be RHCP’s first performance at the BBMAs in 23 years. The group’s most recent project, Unlimited Love, debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 last week.
This will also be Nigerian rap superstar Burna Boy’s first time performing at the ceremony, as well as Alejandro’s first performance at the award show. The “Museo” artist is a finalist in multiple categories this year, including top Latin artist.
This year, Mary J. Blige will be receiving the prestigious Icon Award during the telecast. In years past winners have included, P!nk, Garth Brooks, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Cher, Celine Dion and more. Blige is also slated to deliver a marathon performance that will include her biggest hits throughout her career.
