Texans sign former Patriots WR, Houston-area native Danny Amendola

Danny Amendola is coming home.

According to NFL Media's Mike Garafolo, the wide receiver is signing a one-year deal with the Texans. The deal is worth $2.5 million.

Amendola was born in The Woodlands, which is about 30 miles north of Houston. He also has a connection with the Texans in first-year general manager Nick Caserio, who was with the Patriots during his time there.

The 35-year-old spent 2013-17 with the Patriots before a year in Miami and the last two with the Lions.

In 14 games last season, Amendola had 46 catches for 602 yards.
