(SportsRadio 610) - Third-year defensive tackle Ross Blacklock is dealing with a leg injury and will not play in the Texans' final preseason game Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

Blacklock suffered the leg injury last Friday in the Texans' second preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams. He has not practiced this week and head coach Lovie Smith on Tuesday ruled him out for Thursday night's preseason finale.

On Payne & Pendergast, Seth and Sean discuss a couple guys on the bubble of making this roster, the most intriguing of which is Blacklock, the second-round pick from 2020 (40th overall), which was acquired in the DeAndre Hopkins trade to the Arizona Cardinals and Houston's first pick that year.

Blacklock has been short on highlights going into his third season, struggling as a rookie before being supplanted on the depth chart last year by then-rookie Roy Lopez.

Then in last Friday's game against the Rams, Blacklock remarkably committed three penalties over two plays.

Considering that's the final performance he will put on tape before the preseason ends, Blacklock might not be long for this squad.
