(SportsRadio 610) - The Texans cut veteran offensive tackle Marcus Cannon after just one season with the team, Pro Football Network's Aaron Wilson reported Monday afternoon.

Cannon, a three-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots who turns 34 in May, played and started in four games at right tackle for Houston before he was sidelined for the remainder of the season with a back injury.

Without Cannon, the Texans relied on Charlie Heck at right tackle. They also just agreed to Cedric Ogbuehi, who played under the Texans' new offensive line coach George Warhop with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019.

A priority for the Texans this offseason is improving their offensive line, after producing the league's least efficient run game in 2021.

They also have future decisions to make on whether to trade two-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil, and with Tytus Howard entering his fourth season, whether to pick up the 2019 first round pick's fifth-year option.
