(SportsRadio 610) - The highest earning player for each of Houston's three major pro sports team was paid not to play in 2021.
While each of their situations are different - Deshaun Watson with the Texans, Justin Verlander with the Astros and John Wall with the Rockets - the optics of paying so much for so little is gut-wrenching.
The Astros, at least, were successful in 2021 even without Verlander, who was recovering from Tommy John surgery.
But the Texans and Rockets are among the worst teams in their respective leagues. How they got there is what's especially troubling.
Houston sports radio legend Rich Lord, fresh off being inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame, joined Clint Stoerner & "The Show" on Thursday to reflect on his nearly 25 years at SportsRadio 610.
Lord also offered thoughts on the state of the Texans, Rockets and whether the Astros should essentially write Carlos Correa a blank check.
