Another former Patriots player is reuniting with Texans general manager Nick Caserio and executive Jack Easterby.
Edge rusher Derek Rivers has agreed to terms with the Texans, his agent Michael Perrett announced on social media.
Details of the contract were not immediately clear. Rivers was drafted by the Patriots in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft and spent nearly four seasons there before being waived last year and claimed by the Los Angeles Rams.
The 6-foot-3, 248-pound Rivers has seven career tackles and 2.5 sacks.
