More trades land Texans center Juice Scruggs, Houston receiver 'Tank' Dell

(SportsRadio 610) - After sending shockwaves throughout the NFL on Thursday night by swinging a huge trade with the Arizona Cardinals for the No. 3 pick, the Houston Texans remained active Friday evening.

The Texans moved up three spots from No. 65 to 62nd overall in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, which also included picks 188 and 230, to take former Penn State center Juice Scruggs.

Selecting Scruggs at 62 made him the third center off the board behind Wisconsin’s Joe Tippmann and Minnesota’s John Michael Schmitz.

The move fills a major void on the offensive line at the center position.

Scruggs, listed at 6’3 and 301 pounds, survived a near deadly car accident in which he was thrown from his vehicle back in 2019.

Now, Scruggs has an immediate opportunity to start at center ahead of Scott Quessenberry and Jimmy Morrissey on the depth chart.

Seven picks later, the Texans moved further up the board in the third round swinging a deal with the Los Angeles Rams.

The Texans sent picks 73 and 161 to the Rams in exchange for the 69th overall and pick 191 to keep the University of Houston speedy receiver and return man, Tank Dell in Houston.

Dell, listed at 5’8 and 165 pounds and one of the most electric receivers in the draft led the FBS in receiving yards (2,727) and touchdown catches (29) since 2021.
