(SportsRadio 610) - The Texans have received calls from other NFL teams inquiring about trading for the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft, general manager Nick Caserio confirmed Monday morning.

Caserio said they are open to listening to offers, as it would be part of their responsibility to take information and make the best decision.

The acknowledgement sheds some light on the possibility of them not being committed to a specific player at No. 2. There had been anticipation Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud would go first and second in some order.

But there have been rumors of the Texans not being as sold on Stroud as others once assumed.

When asked about the plan if they pass on a quarterback in this draft, to which Caserio said “anything is possible,” the general manager talked about not eliminating anything.

That also includes moving back from No. 2.

“We've received some calls actually, on the No. 2 pick,” Caserio said. “I think our job and responsibility is to listen and not rule anything out. I think whatever the end result is come Thursday, you know, we'll be prepared to go either way. If you want to quote me, are we open for business, I would say we're open to listening, so if you want to change the vocabulary a little bit this year.

“We have received a few calls, and again, I think our responsibility is to listen, try to take the information in, and then just make the right decision.”

Earlier in the offseason, the Texans had some discussions with the Chicago Bears about moving up from No. 2 to acquire the No. 1 overall pick. The Bears eventually traded the pick to the Carolina Panthers, who are believed to be eyeing Young as the No. 1 pick.

The Texans currently have quarterbacks Davis Mills, Case Keenum and E.J. Perry on the roster.
