(SportsRadio 610) -- Former Patriots running back Rex Burkhead is joining the Texans.
According to Texans insider John McClain and FOX26's Mark Berman reported Monday morning the 30-year-old entering his ninth season is signing with the Texans.
Burkhead joins a running back group which already includes David Johnson, Phillip Lindsay and Mark Ingram.
Last season, Burkhead rushed for 274 yards and three touchdowns for the Patriots. He also caught 25 passes, including three for touchdowns.
