Texans starters to see more action in final preseason game

Texans head coach David Culley has been reluctant to characterize players at "starters," but his hand is usually shown by who opens the game, and who rests after a certain amount of time.

As Culley described it Monday, some players have been on somewhat of a pitch count in these first two preseason games.

That's why it will be important to watch who is playing the first series of each half Saturday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The goal is to see how certain players respond after halftime adjustments.

"We're going to play them more, for sure," Culley said. "We really want those guys to kind of get a feel for what it's like to go into the second half of a ballgame. We haven't had that yet. The plan is to try to take them into the third quarter to kind of see how we handle the adjustment from the first half to the second half."
