The Texans are adding another linebacker with the signing of Jordan Jenkins to a two-year deal, according to the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson.
Jenkins, a former New York Jets outside linebacker, is signing with the Texans for a base value of $6 million and a maximum value of $8 million, Wilson reports.
Jenkins has 189 career tackles, 22.5 sacks, 46 quarterback hits and 25 tackles for loss since entering the league as a third-round draft pick by the Jets in 2016.
Last season, Jenkins had two sacks, a forced fumble and 32 tackles for the Jets.
The Texans have added several linebackers and edge rushers as they switch to a 4-3 defense under coordinator Lovie Smith.
They added Shaq Lawson by trading Benardrick McKinney to the Miami Dolphins.
Zach Cunningham will likely star at middle linebacker. The Texans are also signing linebackers Christian Kirksey, Kevin Pierre-Louis, Kamu Grugier-Hill and Joe Thomas.
