(SportsRadio 610) - The Texans' offense is bad on third down.
They have not converted on any third-and-long situation (more than seven yards to go), and their third-down conversion rate is third-lowest in the NFL.
This is part of the issue with second-year quarterback Davis Mills, who made a pass attempt on each of the Texans' third-and-long plays this year. His inaccuracy has been staggering at times, bad enough to hold his team back.
Mills is tied for the league lead in bad throws, according to Pro Football Reference. He has the 11th lowest on-target throwing percentage.
On Payne & Pendergast, Houston Chronicle Texans insider Brooks Kubena discusses how bad Mills has been on third down, what happened with Thomas Booker's car, and Lovie Smith returning to Chicago.
