In an edge of your seat video, Atlanta Police Department officers became heroes when they jumped into action to save a dog tethered to a tree just feet from a raging fire.
On March 7, officers responded to a vehicle fire in northwest Atlanta. A bystander told them about the dog, and bodycam footage shows the officers running toward the fire to free the dog.
“The officers quickly leapt into action, placing themselves in harm’s way to free the dog. As they worked to get the collar from his neck, the vehicle continuously reacted loudly to the heat, but these officers would not be deterred,” the department revealed in a Facebook post.
After struggling for what feels like hours, the officers are finally able to free the dog, who appears to be becoming more and more stressed.
“We would also like to mention that we are proud of the dog, who maintained his composure and showed bravery throughout this ordeal allowing the officers to free him. We give him a 12/10. He’s a good boy,” Atlanta Police wrote.
