The Barbie movie hit, that earned itself a Best Original Song nomination at the this year’s Academy Awards got the usual nominee treatment of a live performance during the evening’s ceremony.

For his performance, Ryan, clad in a bedazzled all-pink suit and cowboy hat, started the song from his seat in the audience, before taking to the stage to join a live band and all his fellow Kens.

The choreography, the Kenergy, Mark Ronson on guitar, and addition of Simu Liu and Kingsley Ben-Adir, made for an already incredible performance that had us ready to beach off with anyone that said otherwise. And then! Wolfgang Van Halen also joined the set, followed by Slash who brought his guitar onstage to shred a heartfelt guitar solo alongside Gosling midway through the song.

Ryan also shared the love, handing off his microphone to his Barbie castmates for the chorus, and even Emma Stone took the mic for a line. The entire crowd was on their feet for the explosive performance, which concluded with actual fireworks.

Written and produced by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, “I’m Just Ken” was one of two songs from the Barbie soundtrack to be nominated for Best Original Song this year, along with Billie Eilish and Finneas’ “What Was I Made For?,” which took home the Oscar. The other nominees included “The Fire Inside” from Flamin’ Hot, “It Never Went Away” from American Symphony, and “Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People)” from Killers of the Flower Moon.
