The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will host its 27th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Event on this Saturday, October 26th, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All you have to do is put in your zip code and a plethora of collection sites pop up.

You may or may not know this but drugs lingering in your medicine cabinet are not good for you or your family for a few different reasons. And you don't want to just throw them out or toss 'em in the toilet. The drugs have a great chance of getting into our soil and our water. Not only that but someone in your family, or a friend who visits, who may have an addiction problem might take advantage of the fact that you are not using or paying attention to those drugs. Studies show that many drug abusers get the prescription drugs from the home medicine cabinet. That makes those drugs a vital public safety and public health issue because those drugs are susceptible to misuse and abuse.

Prescription drug abuse is increasing at an alarm rate resulting in an uptick in overdoses and accidental poisonings. Not only that but many of us, including Wicker & Wilde, don't know how to properly dispose of unused medicine, again, often flushing them down the toilet or throwing them away - both ways being potential safety and health hazards.

Go ahead and do yourself a favor.....put in your zip code and take a minute to drop off your unused prescription drugs this Saturday. Rebecca Wilde is even going to do it get rid of her dogs' unused prescription drugs. Thanks for making a difference!
