We beat New York! We beat New York!!
When you think of the most cultured cities in the country, which ones come to mind? New York City may be one for a lot of people, thanks to all the museums, iconic spots and Broadway theaters, but it got snubbed in a new ranking of America’s Most Cultured Cities.
- To come up with the list, Holafly created a “culture score” for 100 of the most populated cities in the U.S. based on the number of theaters, live music venues, museums, landmarks, and art galleries per 100-thousand people.
- New Orleans tops the list with the most cultural attractions and experiences per capita.
- “The Big Easy” is home to St Louis Cathedral, the oldest continuously active Roman Catholic Cathedral in the country, located in the historic French Quarter.

- The Louisiana city is also known for historic architecture and tons of music venues, including Preservation Hall.
- The best city for museums is Arlington, Virginia, followed by Nashville.
- San Francisco wins for best city for music venues, and best city for landmarks/points of interest.
- New Orleans is the best city for art galleries, followed by Miami.
- And the best city for theaters is St. Louis, Missouri, followed by Las Vegas.
- Surprisingly, New York City is only 43rd on the list of most cultured cities.
And of course Richmond made the top 10 because of Wicker and Wilde who are the epitome of culture! hahahahaha....ha....
