The smell of sunscreen in the air can only mean one thing – spring break is almost here. After the freezing winter weather a lot of Americans have been dealing with this year, many are ready to relax with a warm, sunny getaway and AAA tells us where everyone is going.
- According to the American Automobile Association, flights to domestic hot spots for spring break are 2% more expensive than last year, averaging about $815 for roundtrip tickets.
- Based on AAA Travel booking data, Florida dominates the most popular U.S. destinations as usual, thanks to travelers heading to beaches and theme parks.
- Orlando is number one, with three other cities in the Sunshine State also joining the top 10.
- While many travelers will be taking road trips for spring break, cruises are also a favorite. Ocean cruises continue to set records this year, as AAA projects 21.7-million Americans will set sail on a cruise vacation this year.
