Today is Shawn Mendes’s birthday. The singer turned 21 years old, and to celebrate this monumental age, we’re taking a look at his much-talked-about relationship with Camila Cabello.

Mendes and Cabello have made murmurings in the press for years with rumors surrounding their special relationship. Having appeared together in public and spoken about each other many times, it looks like the two are more than just collaborators.

We’re taking a closer look at the many times things got adorable between our fan-appreciative birthday boy and his real-life Cinderella.

When they became friends on tour in 2014.

Shawn and Camila first met in 2014, both opening for Austin Mahone’s “Live on Tour” series. In a recent joint interview with Camila, Mendes said, “You were the only person that talked to me.” He added that in their DMs, there’s a photo of the two together from the day they met.

When they promised James Corden they never even made out.

When Shawn and Camila were on the late night circuit following the release of their first song together, "I Know What You Did Last Summer," they appeared on "The Late Late Show," where host James Corden grilled them about if they were dating or if they'd even made out. The two played coy, with Shawn joking, "Every time I try to make a move she just swears me off." Cabello had a different story, saying, "He friendzones me! He calls me 'kid.'" Something's not adding up! Corden didn't believe them, and neither did anyone.

In April 2018, Camila and Shawn linked up backstage when her "Never Be the Same" tour stopped in Canada, where Mendes is from. She posted cute Polaroids of the two hanging out together with the caption "real friends ❤️🇨🇦❤️": a reference to her song of the same name and a Canadian flag emoji shouting out her friend's home country.

When Shawn posted an Instagram vid of him and Camila singing Ed Sheeran's 'Kiss Me.'

This 30-second black-and-white clip of Shawn and Camila doing a cover of Ed Sheeran's "Kiss Me" made Instagram go crazy when Shawn posted it to his account in 2017. Mendes wrote, "Found this gem deep in the iPhone videos..lol i love the 'killed that' face we both make at the end @camila_cabello"

When Camila posted a pic of the two at the 2018 Grammys.

The glo-up was real for the two at last year's Grammy Awards, where they both did a solo performance. Having come such a long way from when they first met in 2014, Camila wrote a heartfelt caption: "so proud of this amazing human !!!!!! seems like yesterday we were just kids singing ed sheeran songs in the dressing room, now we’re kids trying not to throw up cause we’re at the Grammys!!!! i love you forever ❤️"
