Swift revealed the news as she accepted the award for Best Pop Vocal Album during the 66th Annual GRAMMYs for her last new album, Midnights.

“Thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way, but I know that the way the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans, so I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years.”

She continued, “My brand new album, comes out April 19th, it’s called The Tortured Poets Department. I’m gonna go post the cover, right now backstage.”

And that’s exactly what she did, check it out below.

Swift fans are no strangers to album announcements as the mega star is in the midst of re-releasing her first six studio albums in an effort to regain artistic control of her music, however she really dropped jaws revealing the next (unless she announces a new re-release beforehand) will be all new.

Her last completely new album was Midnights, which released in October 2022 and features standout tracks “Anti-Hero,” “Lavender Haze,” “Bejeweled,” “Karma” and more.

That album helped Swift make history at Sunday night’s GRAMMY Awards as she was awarded Album of the Year, making her the first person ever to win that category four times. She’s previously won it with Fearless (2009), 1989 (2015) and Folklore (2020).

The win marked Swift’s 14th overall GRAMMY win across 52 nominations.
