As the official NFL Twitter announced, prior to Super Bowl LV, Miley will headline the “TikTok Tailgate,” the NFL’s pregame event for 7,500 "health care heroes" who have already received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Also announced by the NFL earlier this week, in addition to the pregame event, the 7,500 vaccinated healthcare works will receive free admission to be among the 22,000 allowed into the stadium for the game.
“These dedicated health care workers continue to put their own lives at risk to serve others, and we owe them our ongoing gratitude," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. "We hope in a small way that this initiative will inspire our country and recognize these true American heroes. This is also an opportunity to promote the importance of vaccination and appropriate health practices, including wearing masks in public settings."
Excited about her upcoming performance, Miley also took to socials to share her own announcement, “SUPER BOWL LV!!! 💗 🏈 I’ll be there for TIKTOK TAILGATE!!! I can’t wait to put on a show for the NFL’s honored guests before the game…. Health care workers from Tampa and around the country!,” Miley captioned her very on-brand visual to promote the event. Adding that the performance will air on both CBS and TikTok at 2:30pm EST, on February 7, ahead of the big game.
As of now, Miley rounds out the caravan of artists headed to Tampa for Super Bowl festivities. Joining H.E.R. who will perform "America the Beautiful," along with Jazmine Sullivan and Eric Church who will be singing the National Anthem at this year's kick-off show.
