If Billie Eilish does it, it must be cool. But before you rush back to the 80s for your new mullet, know this: hers wasn’t intentional.

The “you should see me in a crown” singer captivated the 2019 LACMA Art + Film Gala with her performance, but her new “do” also turned some heads and raised some eyebrows. Eilish rocked a look that featured short hair on the sides, long hair in the back and some yellowish green on top.

That’s not the look the 17-year-old was going for, however, as she told TMZ when they tracked her down at LAX. Eilish added that the mullet was not here to stay.

“Somebody dyed my hair and they burnt half of it off so now it looks like a mullet,” Eilish explained. “That s**t’s not on purpose though.”

Eilish is prepping some new music that should help fans get their eyes off her hair for a while. The singer-songwriter said in an Instagram story video over the weekend two new tracks are on the way sometime soon, as well as a new video for her song “Xanny.”
