Incubus is already responsible for one of the best songs of the year with “Into the Summer,” and the California band has plenty more where that came from.
In a response to a fan’s question on Twitter, frontman Brandon Boyd said the track that was released in August was just the first of a handful of new songs Incubus has ready to go.
“Into the Summer” captured an 80s vibe that went to the next level on its “Lost Boys” inspired video.
Boyd’s comments about new music echo what guitarist Mike Einziger told RADIO.COM in our interview with the band in July. He said Incubus had been squeezing studio sessions in between live shows.
“We wanted to have kind of a collection of songs ready before we start diving into rehearsals for the upcoming Make Yourself tour,” Einziger said. “We have several new songs that are finished, and we’re working on visuals for them now, and we’re going to start releasing singles pretty soon.”
The Make Yourself tour is now in full swing, as Incubus maintains a busy schedule to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album that put them on the map. Dates are scheduled through December 5th in Raleigh, NC.
