EXCLUSIVE: FINNEAS on His Secret Sibling Language With Billie Eilish and Those Taylor Swift Rumors

The GRAMMY winner answers our rapid fire questions

If ever there was a time to share a secret sibling language, it was during the 2020 Oscars. FINNEAS and his sister Billie Eilish were the go-to crowd reaction shot, with the “bad guy” singer becoming an instant meme thanks to her expressions. Looking on as Eminem performed and as Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph sang, Billie gave us life during an otherwise ordinary award show.

FINNEAS tells us that the two do have a secret code, but it’s more powerful than words. “We absolutely do. We give each other looks and the look conveys everything that we’re feeling,” he tells RADIO.COM during our exclusive rapid fire Q + A above.

“Sometimes one of us will be sitting somewhere minding our own business, and the other person will jerk their body as close to, but not touching your body, as humanly possible,” FINNEAS smiles. “And dead silent, like never any noise. Just right to where you are, which amuses me to no end.”

We covered a lot of ground with a couple quick questions, learning what FINNEAS is watching, revealing his hair routine, even his latest Taco Bell order.

“I went to Taco Bell the other day before a session,” he laughs. “I got two bean burritos, two orders of chips, a crispy potato soft taco. It was a Taco Bell with no drive-thru. Crazy that they even exist. Ordered inside. It was plated for me. I was like, ‘no.’ Took it out, sat in my car, ate it and listened to a podcast.”

The 22-year-old says he has hit all the accomplishments that he wanted to hit by 25, thanks in part to his 5 wins at the 2020 GRAMMY Awards. There’s still plenty of people he would like to collaborate with though, like Lewis Capaldi. There’s also that rumor floating around Twitter that a Taylor Swift collab is coming soon.

“Not that I know of,” he says, slightly confused. “People were like, ‘he’s collaborating with Taylor Swift’ and I was like, ‘I am?’ I think she’s wonderful. Her songwriting has inspired me for years. I usually don’t like to annoy people in asking to work with them. If she wants to make some stuff I’m sure I’ll find out, and then we’ll make some stuff together,” he laughs.

Even after all the wins and high-profile success, FINNEAS says he’s still able to walk around unrecognized. From Taco Bell to Central Park, he gets by because he looks “regular.”

“It’s awesome,” says FINNEAS. “Maybe just cause I have regular face. Like I am just regular guy, with a beard. You know what I mean? There’s a lot of me. I feel like people who look unique are screwed, but I’m pretty regular.”
