That Time Marilyn Manson Requested Machine Gun Kelly Cover Rihanna, and He Did

Although it may be an odd request, the results are fantastic

Here’s a sentence you don’t see every day. It’s Machine Gun Kelly covering Rihanna at the request of Marilyn Manson.

Machine Gun Kelly has been spending his time in quarantine covering a wide variety of songs. Called the “Lockdown Sessions,” Kelly gave Marilyn Manson a call on FaceTime asking for a song request.

Manson’s response caught Kelly, and most everyone watching off guard. “What?!?” Kelly exclaimed when he heard Manson’s request.

However, the results couldn’t have been better.

“Was anyone else tripped out that Marilyn Manson’s song request was Rihanna 'love on the brain'” Kelly tweeted out after publishing the video.

“Love on the Brain” comes from Rihanna’s 2016 album ANTI seeing the singer give a fantastic doo-wop, soul style vocal performance.

Although Kelly’s vocals come in a few octaves lower, he nails the emotion Rihanna gave in her version.

Rihanna took to Instagram applauding Machine Gun Kelly’s version saying “thanks for this request I never knew I needed it!!!”

Manson is no stranger to odd collaborations as he recently revealed Tiger King star Joe Exotic once asked for his endorsement when he was running for Governor of Oklahoma.

Manson began following Exotic on social media when he received a direct message from Joe. “Hey, Thanks for the follow. I’m running for Governor of Oklahoma and trying to speak for the real people for a change and get some help for addiction in this State that no one cares about. Would you endorse me? Not asking for money. Just to use your name as an endorsement.”

Manson was blunt with his response. “Nope. Don’t F*** With Cats.”
