Post Malone’s Nirvana Tribute Gets Seattle Seal of Approval From Krist Novoselic, Courtney Love

This was obviously a passion project for Posty

On Friday, Post Malone joined the ever-growing list of artists providing performances from home amid the worldwide coronavirus crisis. His take was to offer music fans a set of Nirvana classics with help from his friends Nick Mack, Brian Lee, and Travis Barker playing in separate rooms in Malone's admittedly unkempt Salt Lake City home.

For those on the fence regarding the ALT/Pop mainstay, you should be given a healthy kick over from the first song, a blistering version of the In Utero track "Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle." This was obviously a passion project for Posty, who powered through fifteen songs over the course of about an hour with plenty of "cheers" breaks in between.

Not to mention the fact he managed to get the seal of approval of the Seattle band's bassist Krist Novoselic, and Kurt Cobain's widow, Courtney Love before, during, and after the event.

"Goosebumps ... Go have a margarita Post Malone. Nothing but love from here," Courtney Love said on Instagram after the broadcast while also acknowledging his and Brian's choice of attire.

Perhaps inconspicuously absent was a nod from Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, whose band Foo Fighters was also streaming a live event the same day (you should definitely watch that as well).

Malone and company helped raise over $2.8 million for the World Health Organization that will go to COVID-19 relief efforts.
