On Wednesday, The Kid LAROI teased his fans with what looks like the makings of an upcoming collab with Tame Impala.

The possible link-up is suggested by a pair of photos LAROI posted on his Instagram Story of himself in a recording studio with the band’s frontman and primary songwriter, Kevin Parker.

While neither offered with any context than the obvious, both photos show the pair sitting in front of a mixing desk, with the first featuring the addition of the following emojis “💊🚔👩‍❤️‍👨🥃” that one eager fan noticed he previously used in a tweet for" Thousand Miles,” one of LAROI’s very much teased, yet still unreleased single.

Since his arrival on the music scene LAROI’s been steadily releasing mixtapes. His latest, F*** Love 3: Over You, arrived in July — the third installment in a trilogy of EPs, following July 2020’s F*** Love, and F*** Love (Savage) released that November. The latest mixtape featured “Stay”, LAROI’s hit collab with Justin Bieber.

Currently, Kid is working on his debut full-length, which is expected for release in 2022. And that’s not all next year will bring. In September, LAROI announced his first-ever world tour will kick off in late January 2022 with stops in the US, Europe, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. He's also scheduled to perform at Audacy's We Can Survive concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 23.

As for Tame Impala, according to NME back in June, Parker hinted that a track he and Mark Ronson worked on with SZA could be released in the near future, many years after it was debuted live in 2017. But in more recent news, Diana Ross reportedly said that Tame Impala would appear on a track for her upcoming album, Thank You.
