Watch YUNGBLUD Answer Questions in an Exclusive FANDEMIC Instagram Live

The 'Weird!' singer lets us in

YUNGBLUD joined RADIO.COM for an exclusive FANDEMIC Instagram Live on Friday, answering your questions from around the world and sharing what’s next for the “Weird!” singer.

"I just couldn't wait to put it out," YUNGBLUD says about his latest single, "Weird!," released last month. "I wrote it last year, but, then it needed to come out right now and everyone loves it, and I'm just like, a little bunny rabbit in the forest bouncing around with excitement."

After a couple amazing collaborations with artists like Travis Barker, Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons, and blackbear – YUNGBLUD returned with a timely anthem taking all of the spotlight himself, soaring and shimmering on the solo offering.

“I wrote the song about the weirdest time in my life ever imagined,” YUNGBLUD explains. “I felt like the ground beneath me was a maze that was shape shifting and I felt like I was going to fall down the cracks and, in my opinion, the world feels exactly like that right now. I wanted this song to make everyone feel that everything was going to be alright no matter how weird things get.”

The song sounds like it was created instantly in this uncertain time, but it was actually created prior to the pandemic. The video however was shot in the apartment the singer is currently renting in California, shot with the help of his cameraman and two bandmates that he is sheltering-in-place with.

YUNGBLUD is hard at work on his sophomore album, and he is documenting his time social distancing in a new YouTube series called, Stay Home With: YUNGBLUD. You can check out episode one below.

"Dude, it's so mental man, how that even came about," he says of the series. "We were supposed to go to South America but everything was getting cancelled, and I was like, 'f*** this I'm not gonna let this rubbish come in-between the connection between me and my fanbase. So we were like, 'we're gonna be the first ones to do a live stream, we'll be the first ones to do it.' And then they just blew it up."

"72 hours later we're in a TV studio, and I'm trying to be like the punk rock Jimmy Fallon like, 'argh,'" he exclaims.
