Country star Chris Stapleton had some not-so-great news for fans in Nashville and Cincinnati this week as he postponed tour stops, per doctor’s orders.

Stapleton, who also rescheduled a show in Sioux Falls, S.D. less than a week ago, took to social media to inform fans about the postponement, sharing he is still recovering from laryngitis.

"I had hoped to have some good news to share with you all after this quiet time, but unfortunately, the progress I've made is not enough,” he shared in a statement. “On doctor's orders, I will need to continue my vocal rest through the weekend in order to fully heal.”

Nashville’s shows, originally scheduled for October 22 and 23 have now been rescheduled to December 10 and 11. Cincinnati’s show will be pushed to 2022, the exact date has yet to be confirmed.

“Nothing is more personal to me than the experience of music,” the “Tennessee Whiskey” singer continued. “I’m eternally grateful for the privilege of sharing in that journey with all of you night after night. Thank you for your continued support and I hope to see you all very soon."
