Yearwood recently opened up about her experience contracting the virus, explaining Brooks “would not stay away.”

"He would not stay away from me,” Yearwood shared lightheartedly with PEOPLE about her husband of 16 years. “I’m like, 'Dude, I cannot be responsible for giving Garth Brooks COVID, you have to go quarantine on the other side of the house.'"

She continued, "He would not do it. He was really worried about me," she adds. "But he never got sick and he was vaccinated. He took really good care of me, but he drove me crazy."

While Trisha has made a full recovery after what she said was a “mild” case of the virus, she is quick to recognize not everyone is as lucky.

"I had what was considered a mild case… we were lucky that COVID didn't go into our lungs, but that's probably also why we have more trouble here," she shared, pointing at her face. "It was just no joke."
