It takes a lot for a big star like Jake Owen to feel starstruck, but a retweet from Cher did the trick.

Jake shared the special memory with Audacy’s Katie Neal saying, “I got starstruck when last year I released a backstage acoustic thing we did of Cher’s song, 'Do You Believe In Love.'”
He continued, “She heard it and, retweeted it and said ‘Jake, I love your version, this is so cool,’” he explained. “She’s pretty iconic, and for her to acknowledge that was a pretty cool deal.”
Ummmm, VERY cool deal.
Jake proves to be pretty iconic himself, with his most-recent single, “Made For You,” sitting atop the Country charts for two consecutive weeks. The song marked the second #1 of Jake’s “Greetings From… Jake” album, which he released in 2019. The first #1 single from the album was “Homemade,” which struck the top in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
So will we see another single from the album in hopes for lucky number 3? Not likely.
“You gotta move on at some point,” Jake shared while also revealing he has some new music in the works. “We’ve been in the studio working, so hopefully those will be bangers.”
New music isn’t the only thing on the horizon for Owen, who got engaged to his gf of two years, Erica Hartlein, in December 2020. The couple met at a Restoration Hardware store in Nashville where Jake was furniture shopping and Erica was working as an interior designer.
The couple is excited to plan a wedding together, but Jake told Katie Neal he is in no rush.
“We’re not going to plan a wedding until I know that we can have every body that we want [to] come and feel comfortable about being there,” Jake shared, referring to current guidelines surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I love her, she loves me, we definitely want to get married, but we’re not getting married until the time is right… until I can party. A big time party.”
