Miranda Lambert Has Done It Again, Rescuing a Kitten off a Texas Highway

A new kitten and maybe even some new music

Over the weekend Miranda Lambert and husband Brendan McLoughlin welcomed a new addition to their family, a little baby kitten they rescued from a Texas highway. Lambert shared the amazing story with her 4 million followers on Instagram, along with a slideshow of husbands and wife with their newest little nugget Tequila, and O-Meow-G we can’t handle all the cuteness!

"Two lane highway in Texas, speed limit 70," Lambert began her caption, explaining that McLoughlin was driving and slowed down to make a U-turn. After Lambert asking him why he was turning around, he told her, "there’s a kitten in the road and I knew you would kill me if I saw it and didn’t stop."

"Well I guess the rescue ways are rubbing off on him," she continued before sharing that the couple stopped at Lambert's mom and dad's house on their way home, where her dad, Rick Lambert, met his "new bestie."

"This kitten rode 9 hours back to Nashville with us and 3 dogs and was such a champ," Lambert wrote. "He is 4-5 weeks old and weighs 14 Ounces. Y’all welcome Tequila the kitten to the family!”

Tequila's rescue seemed to come at the tail-end of the couple’s recent road trip, which included stops in New York, Oklahoma and Texas.

Lambert revealed last month that after spending so much time together at home in Nashville, the couple was ready to hit the road, in their brand-new 2020 Airstream Globetrotter which they dubbed The Sheriff. “Just because I can’t travel and play shows doesn’t mean I can’t travel and make music,” she explained, “I know that seeing the world through the windshield again will bring creative vibes.”
