Miranda Lambert’s husband Brendan McLoughlin is now her employee.
McLoughlin has left his job as a New York City police officer and is now part of Lambert’s security detail.
“His current duty status is retired,” a rep for the NYPD told Us Weekly.
The news comes after it was previously reported the 29-year-old took a leave of absence from the force last summer.
While some had speculated the handsome New York native was contemplating a career change, it turns out he traded protecting the 8 million residents of the Big Apple for keeping his wife safe.
McLaughlin has been spotted checking bags and monitoring fans at several of Lambert’s meet-and-greets following her concerts.
"Brendan was the security guard right before you go in to meet Miranda for her meet and greet," an eyewitness told Fox News.
"Brendan was one of the security guys checking fans and when it was your turn it was actually Brendan asking if fans had anything they wanted Miranda to sign," another source relayed the first-hand account to the outlet.
Last year, the “Bluebird” singer shocked fans when she revealed she had tied the knot with McLoughlin on January 26th, 2019.
"In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news," Lambert wrote. "I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full. Thank you Brendan Mcloughlin for loving me for.... Me."
The GRAMMY winner is in the midst of her “Wildcard Tour,” which is currently winding its way through the United States before moving on to Canada.
