Amanda Bynes is making amends.
The Nickelodeon star took to Instagram to introduce fans to her new fiancé Paul Michael, apologize for previously calling several celebrities ugly, and inform the public that she’s one-year sober.
“Hey everyone, this is Paul my fiancé,” the “What a Girl Wants” star said, introducing her future husband who greeted followers with a simple, “What’s up?”
“I’m so lucky, as you can see he’s drop-dead gorgeous,” Bynes continued as she cuddled up to him, adding, “He’s also the best person on the face of the earth.”
“I just wanted to post a video to say I’m sorry to everyone who I called ugly on Twitter. I was feeling so ugly at the time and it was really hard for me to express myself at the time because I was so drugged out and now I’ve remained sober for over a year,” Bynes shares, adding “Same with Paul.”
Bynes is referring to comments she made in 2013 on Twitter in which she called several celebrities “ugly” including Rihanna, Zac Efron, Miley Cyrus, Chrissy Teigen, Jay-Z, Drake, RuPaul, and The Obamas.
“I just want to let you know that I love you guys and I’m so happy now. I feel like I got what’s mine and that is Paul,” the 33-year-old said wrapping up the video.
Bynes and Michael got engaged this past Valentine’s Day. The “What a Girl Wants” actress took to social media to announce the news by flashing a huge emerald-cut diamond engagement ring.
“Engaged to tha love of my life,” Bynes captioned the photo.
However, Bynes might not make it down the aisle with her “love” without the support of her family.
TMZ reports that Amanda’s mother is her conservator following several tumultuous years that found the star struggling with addiction and depression and going in and out of mental health facilities.
Without her conservator’s consent, Amanda is not allowed to get married.
A source told the publication that the family isn’t supportive of the engagement since they haven’t even met Michael. They also reportedly believe he may be a rebound.
TMZ reports the couple has only been dating a few months after meeting in AA.
On Tuesday, February 19, the actress thanked fans for supporting her fashion dreams and expressing her desire to design her own fashion collection on Instagram Story.
In June 2019, Bynes graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising where she was a “star student,” according to the publication.
