Anne Hathaway reveals she was 9th choice for ‘Devil Wears Prada’ role

What does Miranda Priestly have to say about this?!

Anne Hathaway almost didn’t star in her iconic role in “The Devil Wears Prada."

While it’s hard to picture anyone else sparring with Meryl Streep in the 2006 film, Hathaway made the casting admission during an appearance on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

The Oscar winner was giving the show’s season 13 contestants a pep talk prior to their most recent musical challenge, when one of the queens, Rosé, asked if there were any roles the actress had to fight for.

"I will give you some tea,” Hathaway said virtually. “I was the ninth choice for Devil Wears Prada.”

After the room erupted in shock and awe, the 38-year-old added: "But I got it! Hang in there, never give up." Shantay you stay, Anne Hathaslay!

It was previously reported that Rachel McAdams was the studio’s first choice for the role of fashion assistant Andy Sachs. While McAdams had come off from starring in blockbusters like “Mean Girls” and “The Notebook,” she later disclosed her reasoning for turning down the part.

"I'm not going to make movies just to make movies,” McAdams told Elle in 2007.  "I have to be passionate about it. And at the same time, I can get very distracted when I'm working, and I like to get back to my life a lot."

Other actresses who auditioned for the role include Claire Danes and Juliette Lewis, according to BuzzFeed. Per Hathaway's disclosure, it would mean 5 other actresses were considered for the role before she was ultimately cast.

Along with Hathaway and Streep, the film featured Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci and Adrian Grenier and earned over $325 million at the global box office.

That’s all.
