Betty White would have celebrated her 100th birthday on January 17.
The “Golden Girls” star passed away on December 31 at the age of 99, just a few weeks ahead of her centennial milestone.
On the star’s birthday, Kiersten Mikelas, White’s assistant, shared a photo of her looking “radiant” in a bright green outfit. The adorable snap showed the “Golden Girls” actress sitting down on a floral loveseat while smiling.
“Hello Everyone! It’s Kiersten. Betty’s assistant,” she wrote on White’s official Facebook page.” On this special day, I wanted to share this photo of Betty. It was taken on 12/20/21. I believe it’s one of the last photos of her.”
“She was radiant and beautiful and as happy as ever. Thanks to all of you who are doing kind things today and every day to make the world a better place,” Mikelas concluded the post.
As the world mourns White, celebrations of her life will continue throughout the month of January.
NBC revealed that it would honor the American icon with a primetime special titled “Celebrating Betty White: America’s Golden Girl,” which will air on Monday, January 31 at 10/9c.
The hour-long special will feature friends and stars coming together to pay tribute to the TV legend and animal rights advocate. Participants making an appearance will be announced at a later date.
Earlier this month, a report confirmed that White died from a stroke.
The death certificate listed the cause of death as “a cerebrovascular accident,” which is a loss of blood flow to part of the brain that results in brain tissue damage. It reveals that she suffered the stroke six days before her death.
She was 99.
