Cameron Diaz says she has to ‘live to be 107’ after having a baby in the ‘second half' of her life

Cameron Diaz is opening up about the joys of motherhood.

The actress, who is married to Benji Madden, talked to Naomi Campbell about being a first-time mother at 47, People reports. The two celebs spoke on an episode of the supermodel’s “No Filter” Youtube series.

“A lot of people do it the other way around ... they get married [and] have a family in their youth,” Diaz said. She and her husband welcomed daughter Raddix in December 2019.

“I’m kind of doing it in the second half of my life,” Diaz added.

“The only pressure for me now is I have to live to be, like, 107, you know? No pressure!” The actress joked as she shared that she is the “happiest” that she has been in a while.

The “Charlie’s Angel” star said that this is the most “gratifying” time in her life. She explained that having a child when you're young is easier - you just do it. However, when you’re in your 40’s, she explained that it is a real choice, and you have to work hard for it.

In April, the actress explained what it was like raising a child during the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’ve kinda been living a quarantine life anyhow because I have a three-month-old - three-and-a-half month - so my life has been completely quiet and still for the last few months,” Diaz said.

Although she is social distancing, the “Shrek” actress is more than content spending time with her two favorite people in the world.

“I love a bubble, it’s so dope. I love being in the womb of my home and with my family, with my husband and cooking,” she continued. “But at the same time, it’s crazy to think you can’t actually go into the world if you wanted to right now and you think of everything happening out there, all the people holding it down is incredible. I’m amazed at how many people are actually out there doing it, risking their lives.”

Since welcoming their daughter on December 30th, 2019, Diaz has completely fallen in love with being a mom. Diaz and Madden, who married in 2015, shared that they are all about teamwork and have split up the parental duties evenly.
